Lew's Organic Orange & Chocolate Quick Bread Recipe - No Dairy, Eggs, Gluten, Sugar, Wheat, or Yeast

  • 2 & 1/4 cups Garbanzo Bean Flour (if not available locally - Bob's Red Mill Garbanzo Bean Flour online)
  • 1/4 cup Whole Grain Brown Rice Flour (if not available locally - Bob's Red Mill Whole Grain Brown Rice Flour online)
  • 1/2 cup Organic Cocoa Powder (not roasted - Shiloh Farms makes 16 oz bags)
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Light Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Organic Soy Milk - add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice & let sit 15 minutes to thicken up (Edensoy or Westsoy)(substitute for buttermilk - 1 teaspoon lemon juice for each 1/3 cup Unsweetened Organic Soy Milk) (Rice milk will not work well. Since soy milk has much more protein, it will thicken better.)
  • 1 & 1/4 cups Organic Orange Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Organic Vanilla Extract (Alcohol Free is much better)
  • 2 teaspoons Organic Cinamin
  • 2 teaspoons Celtic Sea Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Xylitol*
Makes 1 large loaf. Instead of greasing a 8" x 8" x 2" bread pan, a piece of parchment paper, cut to fit in just the bottom, worked better. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Ran a thin spatula around and turned over. Bread fell right out and parchment paper peeled right off. If you put your bread in the refrigerator, it will lose it's freshness faster then leaving it out. If you want to keep it longer than 2 days, slice & freeze in separate freezer bags within 24 hours, but allow it to cool first.

New Study Reveals Vegan Diets Healthier for People and the Planet

In 2002, fossil fuels emitted for food production per person were equivalent to about one-third the average greenhouse-gas emissions of personal transportation. "We say that however close you can be to a vegan diet and further from the mean American diet, the better you are for the planet. It doesn't have to be all the way to the extreme end of vegan. If you simply cut down from two burgers a week to one, you've already made a substantial difference," explain researchers Gidon Eshel and Pamela Martin, assistant professors in Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago.

Reduce Your Stroke Risk

University of London researchers investigated 8 studies previously done in America, Europe, and Japan with more than 250,000 individuals. The results of the study was published in the Lancet journal.
  • 3 to 5 servings of fruits & vegetables reduce stroke risk by 11%
  • 5 servings or more of fruits & vegetables reduce stroke risk by 25%
They concluded that the benefits could be due to the potassium, since potassium can lower blood pressure. You increase potassium intake about 50% by increasing fruit & vegetable consumption from 3 to 5 servings per day.

Ways to increase fruit & vegetable servings:
  • Add fresh berries and bananas or apple slices to your cereal.
  • Use fresh fruits as desserts.
  • Use fresh fruits as snacks, instead of chips, cookies, etc.
Gary suggests 12 servings of fruits & vegetables a day, as a minimum. According to Gary, this would save 125,000 lives a year, instead of the 40,000 lives that would be saved by following the study's recommendation of 5 or more servings per day. He also suggests that 2 of the 12 servings be 1 cup of blueberries, since 1 serving of fresh fruit or vegetables is half a cup and he considers blueberries to be the best. Support Your Health and Immune System

Gary Null's Elimination Diet is designed to replace all of the dead "foods" and substances that are bad for you with energy foods.

2,400 Patients Taking Fosamoax & Other Bone-Building Drugs Have Reported Bone Death in Their Jaws

Debra Ray, on The Debra Ray Show, read from an article in the Los Angeles Times. Most patients were taking intravenously delivered, especially potent versions of these drugs. An additional 120 people who were taking the especially potent version in pill form, to prevent bone thinning, have been stricken with incapacitating bone, joint or muscle pain. Some were bedridden and others required crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs. Most reports were after a minor trauma such as getting a tooth extracted. In the last two years, drug makers have added warnings about bone death to some of the medications' labels and about the pain syndrome to all of them.

"I've taken off several jaws because of this problem. Because bone death can't be reversed, there's nothing we can do for these patients except ease their pain and prevent it from spreading," says Dr. Salvatore Ruggiero, an oral surgeon at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York who was among the first to observe this phenomenon in 2001.

Dr. Stephen Bittiker, on his Natural Health and You show, said that Dr. Mercola's website is the best researched natural alternative healthcare website. Dr. Bittiker suggested the article below on sleep, on Dr. Mercola's website, and added a couple of his own suggestions. A low-grade B complex deficiency can disturb sleep. Check your multivitamin and make sure you're taking enough. A mineral deficiency can disturb sleep. Have your mineral levels checked.
