Dark Chocolate Helps to Stave Off Hardening of the Arteries!

A study at University Hospital, in Zurich Switzerland, concluded that 2 ounces of dark chocolate every day, can cut the risk of serious heart disease by helping to stave off hardening of the arteries. The dark chocolate should have about 74% cocoa solids. White chocolate had no benefit. The study was done using ultrasound and showed significant improvement in the smoothness of the arterial blood flow. Debra Ray said that 2 ounces is a few squares and cautioned that more than 2 ounces would not be better. Just in time for the holidays!

Proton Pump Inhibitors (Nexiun, Prilosec, Lozac, etc.) Triple Your Risk of C-diff Bacteria Diarrhea

New Canadian research study shows that the use of proton pump inhibitor drugs, that suppress stomach acid, increases the risk of increasingly common infectious forms of diarrhea. Taking these drugs triples your risk of ending up with a C-diff (Clostridium difficile) bacteria diarrhea. C-diff (Clostridium difficile) is an increasingly deadly bacteria because it isn't responding to the strongest drugs. Stomach acid is there for a reason. Stomach acid is essential for the digestion of proteins and helps keep bacteria away. These drugs don't cure the problem. Natural Treatment of Leaky Gut Syndrome

On the Gary Null Show, Gary gave a number of suggestions to help Leaky Gut Syndrome. His show's audience is increasing by over 100,000 listeners per week.

• Take your time eating.
• Do not eat under stress.
• Eat smaller quantities of food.
  
• Do not have a liquid with the meal. Either have it before the meal or an hour after the meal.
  
• Take at least 2 tablespoons of non dairy acidophilus and bifidus a day.

New Use for Coca-Cola Found in India

On The Gary Null Show, Gary Null read from a news report. Farmers in India found by mistake that Coca-Cola makes an excellent pesticide. An Indian farmer was delighted when Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, and other local drinks sprayed on his cotton crop, killed the bugs. Instead of paying 10,000 rupees for 1 litre of pesticide, he can pay 30 rupees for 1 litre of Coca-Cola. Already known as an efficient toilet cleaner, windshield cleaner, and rust spot remover, Coca-Cola sales in India are increasing as word of this use spreads. Gary was hoping that Coca-Cola would be satisfied with these increased sales and no longer sell it as a drink. We can only hope.

Millions of Americans Suffer From Acid Reflux (GERD)

The topic of Healthy Talk Radio with Debra Ray on LIME was Acid Reflux (GERD). An estimated 100 million Americans suffer from Acid Reflux every month. An estimated 15 million Americans suffer from Acid Reflux every day. It occurs when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus. 13 billion dollars a year is spent on proton pump inhibitor drugs. The British Medical Journal says proton pump inhibitors and acid suppressing drugs increase the risk of respiratory infections by 85%. Stomach acid keeps out bacteria, such as h pylori that can cause ulcers. Decreased stomach acid allows larger food particles to be absorbed back into the blood stream, which causes food allergies. More than 50% of Americans now have food allergies. As stated in a special section of the Wall Street Journal, What they're finding is that the long term consequences of reducing acid in the stomach, through the use of medication, alters the environment in the digestive tract in a way that allows cancer to take hold in certain patients. We're selling 13 billion dollars worth of the protonics, Nexium and Prevacid, but we have increased the rate of esophageal adenocarinoma 500% in the last 30 years in this country and we may be doing it to ourselves.

These drugs don't cure the problem. Some changes you can make to get at the root of the problem:

*Fiber in the diet has decreased from 100 grams many years ago, to 10 to 12 grams today. You need 40 to 60 grams of fiber a day for optimum health. Not fiber from supplements, either. Check out the website below and change your diet.
