Brenda Watson, N.D., C.T., co-author of 2 books, Renew You Life--Improved Digestion & Detoxification and Gut Solutions, was a guest on The Debra Ray Show. Brenda discussed candida overgrowth. Candida overgrowth can cause these disorders:
- Autoimmune Disorders, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, & Asthma
- Bad Breath
- Bloating & Gas
- Chronic Fatigue
- Crohn's Disease
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Diarrhea
- Fibromyalgia
- Flatulence
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- Leaky Gut (Food Allergies)
- Rectal Itch
- Skin Problems
- Urinary Tract Infections
Brenda suggested taking a high dosage of a good probiotic, twice a day, for one or two weeks. Check the label of the probiotic, to figure how many capules you need to take to get 30 billion viable cells, twice a day. It is best to take to a probiotic on an empty stomach. Right after you get up in the morning and right before going to bed are good times to take your probiotic. After the one or two weeks, you should continue on a maintenance dose of 15 billion viable cells, twice a day. My alternative doctor recommends
IFlora Complete Acidophilus, which is 15 billion viable cells per capsule.
IFlora Complete Acidophilus is very potent, you would only need 2 capsules morning and night for the one or two weeks. The maintenance dose would be 1 capsule morning and night. Many other brands would require a number of capsules morning and night. Make sure you're getting enough fiber, since it absorbs yeast that has died, so it can be elininated through the bowels.
IFlora Complete Acidophilus at the Lowest Price on the NetBrenda also stated that unless you make the following major lifestyle changes, you will not get better. Eliminate the following:
- alcoholic beverages
- antiacids
- artificial sweeteners - Stevia is ok
- breads and baked goods with yeast
- caffeine
- cheese and dairy products
- dried fruits
- foods you are allergic to
- fruit and fruit juices
- fructose
- honey
- maple syrup
- mushrooms
- peanuts
- soy sauce
- sugar
