Whole Vitamin C Is 10 Times More Absorbable Than Ascorbic Acid
Extracted from the newsletters at pureplanet.com. Dr. Albert Szent Gyorgi discovered vitamin C in red peppers in the late 1920s and won a Nobel Prize for his work. He also discovered that the vitamin C in the red peppers was at least 10 times more absorbable than the pure ascorbic acid he had isolated out of the pepper. This was ignored. Today many vitamin C products are derived from corn that bioengineers manipulated to increase its vitamin C content. If you take 100 mg. of ascorbic acid, within a few hours at least 90% of it will be excreted in the urine. If you take 10 times more to account for a 90% loss, it may cause diarrhea. Studies have shown that the body will absorb close to 100% of the whole vitamin C. The link below is for an economical(only about $5 for 6 oz) natural whole vitamin C.
